Most people think that it isn’t possible to train a cat. This is because most cats are independent and stubborn creatures that do not seem to be too concerned with what their owners want. They think that training a cat is simply too hard to do (or not possible at all). Believe it or not, it is possible to train a cat. In fact, training a cat is done in much the same way that dogs are trained. While cats seem aloof, they care very much about what their owners want and like to keep their people happy. Another bonus to training your cat is this: it makes life with kitty a lot easier.

There are a few different things you can train your cat to do. Some people train their cats how to use toilets. Others train their cats how to do tricks, how to play fetch and how to come when they are called. You can also train your cats not to do things, like leap onto the kitchen counters or beg for food.
Here are a few quick tips to make training your cat easier:

1. Work on training after your cat’s naptime. When cats first wake up they are generally more receptive to play or training.

2. Don’t force the training. If you try to force the training, the cat will resent it and it will take far longer to teach your cat anything.

3. Keep the training sessions short. If you try to train them for too long, your cat will simply get bored and stop working.

4. Implement a reward system. When your cat does something that you’ve been working on in training, give him a treat, a good petting, some food or a toy to play with.

The best way to train a cat is to train them to do one thing at a time and to start with something small. For instance, start with training your cat to come when he hears you call his name. The best way to do this is to have a treat handy and to keep calling his name until he comes to you. When he comes to you, feed him the treat. Call his name when you feed him. Before too long, your cat will learn to associate the sound of his name with the reward and will come running every time you call. This works for most “signal” tricks.

Using an audible signal can work well when you want to train your cat not to do something. If you want to train your cat not to jump up on the kitchen counters, use a sound that they find startling or unpleasant (the clapping of hands, for example) and whenever they do something that you don’t like, use that signal to startle them. They will learn to associate the action with the unpleasant noise and will stop doing it.
The key to training your cat is patience. It’s best to start training when your cat is a young kitten (though it is possible to train an adult cat).

One of the most important parts of keeping your cat healthy and happy is making sure that he (or she) has enough food to eat and that the food he does eat is good for him. Feeding your pets is one of the most basic responsibilities you will have as a pet owner and it is one that you need to take seriously. Not all cats are the same. They will need food that is made with their age, health and needs in mind.

Make sure that you are feeding your cat food that is age appropriate. Kittens have different nutritional needs than adult cats, and adult cats have different nutritional needs than very old cats. You shouldn’t feed adult food cat to a kitten or vice versa. For one thing, kitten chow is usually softer and its nutrients are closer to the nutrients it was getting when it was nursing. The same is often true of food that is meant for very old cats—it is usually softer and has a very different vitamin and nutrient balance than food made for an adult cat or a kitten.

When your cat is still a kitten you will want to feed it canned cat food every day especially when he is first starting to wean from his mother. Very young kittens can’t yet crunch dry cat food properly. You don’t want them to choke! As they get older, you can lessen the amount of canned cat food and increase the amount of dry cat food you give them. Most people eventually give their cats a diet that consists solely of dry cat food, but canned food is higher in protein and carbohydrates, both of which are important in a cat’s diet. Make sure that you always have some canned cat food on hand—it can be given as a treat, or you can mix it in with the dry, whichever you feel most comfortable doing.

You might also find that your cat has very specific dietary needs or food that was created to nourish cats with certain health issues. There is cat food that is meant specifically for cats that are solely indoor cats. There is cat food that was made to help control hairballs. There is cat food that is made for cats that have sensitive digestive systems. Ask your veterinarian if your cat needs to be placed on a special diet, or if there is anything you can do to help increase the nutritional value of the food he eats.

Milk is also a controversial food. Many people think that milk is good for cats of all ages. While it is true that most cats enjoy drinking milk now and then, giving your cat too much milk can often be harmful to his digestive system. Milk is really only good for very young kittens and very old cats as it is high in calcium—something that dry cat food is fortified with, but that might be hard for very young or very old teeth to chew.

You want your cat to be as healthy as possible and the best way to ensure this is to feed him a proper diet.

The great thing about cats is that they can turn just about anything into a toy. Cats will chase pieces of string, they will pull the insoles out of your shoes, and they will even go to town on your feet under a blanket. There is no need to spend a fortune on pre-made cat toys. Regular household items will do just fine! That being said, there are a few “stand by” toys that have always been very popular.

The most common cat toy is the toy mouse. You can find toy mice that are attached to string, that are battery powered and that have little pockets for catnip. You can also find simple stuffed mice in a variety of colors and patterns. Nobody is sure why cats respond to these toys more than toys shaped after other animals, but they do seem to favour the mouse’s shape. One way to interest your cat in a mouse toy is to toss it into the air or attach a sound device (like a little bell) to it.

Cats also love strings—anything resembling string whether it is a shoelace, a piece of yarn, a bit of rope—if you can slide it across the floor, they will chase after it. Sometimes all you have to do is leave it alone and they will do the playing all by themselves. An easy to make and fun toy for both you and your cat is the stick that has a piece of string tied around it. This is great for you because you won’t have to crawl around and it is great for the cat because it will give the cat the chance to jump around after it’s “prey.”
The other shape that is loved by cats is the ball. Cats will chase after just about anything that is spherical in shape and small enough to be batted around. One of the reasons they are so entertained by balls is the way they will keep moving. Cats don’t often play with things that simply sit still. They like to chase and jump and roll. Balls provide all of these opportunities to them.

Of course, the lazy person’s ideal cat toy is the laser pointer. The laser pointer allows the human to sit still and gives the cat the opportunity to run all over the house, trying to catch the little red dot that always seems to slip away.

The only toy that you really want to stay away from is the squeaky toy. Cats aren’t often strong enough to push on the toy so hard that it makes a sound and in the rare event that they do, the squeak will startle them more than entertain them. Cats don’t like sharp sounds like those that come from a squeaky toy. Save the squeaky toys for the dogs and get your cat a catnip mouse instead.

These cat toy ideas are just a few ways to play with your pet. Cats are very inventive; you can turn just about any household object into a game.

Generally speaking, taking care of a kitten is not all that different than taking care of a full grown cat. The main difference is that kittens need a lot more attention and have some very specific dietary needs that must be met to keep the kitten healthy. It is also important that your kitten sees your veterinarian regularly.

Going to the vet is a normal part of every pet owner’s routine no matter how old your pet gets. Here is the rundown of what to expect from a routine check up at the veterinarian:

Your kitten will be weighed, have his temperature taken and the veterinarian will listen to his heart. After doing a general check over of your kitten’s skin/paws, the following quick exams will be conducted:

An oral exam—your vet will look into your kitten/cat’s mouth to make sure his teeth are healthy and that there are no signs of periodontal disease.

An ear exam—your vet will look into your kitten/cat’s ears to check for ear mites and other signs of damage. Sometimes hearing loss can be detected with a routine ear exam.

An eye exam—your vet will make sure that your kitten/cat responds to visual stimuli, check for cataracts, etc.

If all goes well, your kitten will get a clean bill of health and won’t have to have another vet visit until he or she is six months old, when it will be time to be neutered or spayed.

During the first five weeks of a kitten’s life, he will nurse from his mother. This is the only food he will get and it is important that the mother and kittens have plenty of time to spend together (even if you plan on giving the kitten away later). Once the kitten is five weeks old, his mother will start to wean him from her milk and it will be up to you to provide kitten-friendly food for him to eat. Make sure when you buy food for your kitten that it is made for kittens and not for adult cats. You will want to start the kitten out on canned kitten food. Don’t give the kitten dry food for another couple of weeks because his teeth aren’t yet strong enough to crunch the food safely. By eight weeks of age, your kitten needs to be completely weaned from his mother. You can start to introduce dry food into the kitten’s diet.

At five weeks it is still okay to give your kitten milk to drink, but you will want to gradually introduce water in the next few weeks. Milk is only good for very young kittens and older cats. For regular adult cats, milk can sometimes be harmful!

The kitten’s mother should also be fed kitten food as it is higher in nutrients than adult cat food. After nursing for more than a month, the mother cat’s body can be close to malnourishment so it is important that you provide her with a nutrient rich diet to help her regain her strength.

Cats are the most popular and lovable pets any one could own. They need a lot of care and attention, especially when they have kittens. The mother Cat definitely knows how to nourish their kittens, but mother also needs to be nourished while nursing their kitten. Breeding Cat is not a child’s play, you need to devote much of your time and money if you want a healthy Cat and his Kittens.

The first and foremost duty is to provide a quiet and spacious shelter to your cat and kittens. Mother Cat needs privacy while nursing their kids, they feel uncomfortable and can even be ferocious if its dwelling place is crowded by the intruders. Many of the cat owners couldn’t provide sufficient space to their Cat, hence they should send their Cat elsewhere for few months until kittens are grown enough to be properly taken care of.

Some Cats lack the feeling of motherhood which may apparently lead to death of kittens if not taken proper by the owners. Even after giving birth to healthy kids, the mother cat won’t be interested in them and will not breast feed then or even look after them. At this situation you need to be fully prepared to feed the kittens, clean them regularly, change their sheets and even keep them safe from predators.

Proper vaccines should be given to both mother cat and the kittens to keep them away from any kind of diseases. Veterinary doctors should be consulted weekly for at least 2 months after the birth of kittens.

For the initial 3 days after the birth of kittens, dwelling place should not be touched. But then, a regular cleaning is required which includes daily brushing with weekly bath, changing their sheets with vaccinated one with a proper nutritious diet for both mother cat and kittens.
