Between 8-12 weeks old, most kittens are ready to be adopted. As an adoptive parent, it’s up to you now to provide them the proper care and environment to continue to thrive.

What will my new kitten need?

1. Proper kitten food: A kitten needs more protein and nutrition than an adult cat and for its first year, it’s important he eat food designated specifically for kittens.

2. A litter box: One size fits all, so you needn’t worry if the litter box seems too big. Your little guy will grow into it.

3. A bed, scratching post, and toys: A scratching post and cat toys will help him further develop his cat skills and provide relief for his natural instincts.

4. Grooming: While cats clean themselves with their famed sandpaper tongues, they also rely on us to brush them.

Cats can live up to 15 years or longer. Having a cat is a wonderful experience, but as said, it is also a responsibility. One that needs to be taken seriously and with a clear understanding of what adoption entails.

The last post I did a couple weeks….well months, was a few cute cat pictures. I received a bunch of emails and comments on this blog from some of you who wanted to know where they could adopt or buy a cat. Well, if you are looking to adopt a Cat, your best bet is to visit your local Animal Shelter and see if they have any Cats available for adoption. If you are lucky, you might find a cute little cat up for adoption there.

Well, lets say you did not find the perfect cat you wanted at the local animal shelter, you can probably get in touch with local cat breeders who would either have some cats available for adoption or they for sure can get you connected to somebody they know that has a bunch of cute kitten looking for a new home.

The only cons of the above options are that you may not get the exact Cat Breed you were looking for. Based on the responses I have received, I feel the following kinds of Exotic Cats are Most Popular or should I say Top 5 Cats or Most Wanted Cat Breeds:

Persian Cats
Bengal Cats
Siamese Cats
Ragdoll Cats
Sphynx Cats

Well, now the options that you have are to either connect with some people who have a Cat of the above breed either for sale or for adoption via one of the online classifieds like Craigslist, Kijiji or similar sites. The next option is to checkout some of the Pet Classified sites that have Cats for Sale. A quick search on Google led me to several such sites. I have even listed some of the best ones in Link Section of my website. Check them out and keep sending me your suggestions and comments. Don’t forget to send me your Cat pictures so that I can showcase them here on my Blog .
